TOYZQUMALAQ or togyz kumalak is one of the oldest Kazakh national games, which is included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Board intellectual game is designed to develop logical thinking.
The design of the reverse of the coins is based on the traditional form of the game board, which was used in antiquity. On silver coins, the inscriptions TOĠYZQUMALAQ and the numerical designation of the year of minting are made of gilded game balls. There are 162 balls on the coin. This is the amount used in the game. An ornamental rosette is depicted in the center of the reverse of the coins. In addition, they have inscriptions indicating the metal of manufacture, sample and mass.
The obverse of the coins depicts the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan framed by an ornamental rosette. Around the coat of arms are the inscriptions QAZAQSTAN RESPÝBLIKASY and REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN in the state and English languages, the NBK logo and the denomination of the coins.
