Bicolour (compound) coin circle-shaped is consisted of a ring and a disk. Inner disk is made of tantalum, external ring is made of silver.

Averse: the composition, which symbolizes the unity of a man and the universe, bonds of past and present; the fact value of the coin «500 TENGE»; two legends «REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN» in Kazakh and English.

Reverse: image of Lunokhod-1 – the first self-moving moon device (planetokhod) in the process of program implementation to study the feature of moon surface on the sky and the planet of Earth. The low part depicts the numbers “1970-2010” meaning the year of planetokhod delivery to the Moon surface and the year of coinage. There are two inscriptions «LUNOKHOD-1» in Russian and English.

Lateral surface is grooved.
