Description
The griffin was envisioned by the nomadic peoples of Eurasia as a mythological creature combining the features of a lion and an eagle, symbolizing the unity of the forces of earth and sky. This mythical animal acted as a guardian of sacred values and a symbol of military valor, power, and solar energy, which was reflected in the nomadic “animal style”—on gold, weapons, horse harnesses, and ritual objects, where the griffin had totemic significance.
The coin depicts a griffin soaring above mountains stylized as national ornaments. In the background, mountain peaks are stenciled.
